In 2024, it will be 500 years since King Frederik I confirmed the town of Assen's borough privileges. Of course, this should be celebrated. Therefore, throughout 2024, there will be ongoing events marking the anniversary of the market town.
The big official celebration of the Købstadsanjubilee will take place on 15-18 August 2024 in the city of Assens, where there will be a packed program of experiences and events for both young people, families with children and the older generation.
"It is a historic event that we celebrate with a contemporary and exciting program. It is big - not just for the city of Assen, but for the entire municipality and for Fyn - and I very much hope that as many citizens, visitors and tourists as possible visit Assens in August".
Official celebration will be a blast of a party And it is 4 days with a packed program filled with good experiences for all ages. Among other things, you can experience a music and culture festival at Tobaksgaarden, the Royal Danish Theatre's Summer Opera, samba processions through the city, youth events with concerts, wakeboards and sports activities at Arena Assens, and the large medieval ship Die Kieler Hansekogge, which docks in Assens Harbour – and much more.
